You hear the thunder…..then you see the lighting…..you feel water droplets….& you’re asking if it’s about to rain???!!!!
Sometimes we create our own rain, our own drama, our own storms by the situations we place ourselves in, by the people we are surrounding ourselves with, we want change but we don’t want change….
In my walk with God, especially in the beginning, I had to separate myself from people, not just a friend but a best friend, my ace, the person I talked to each & every day and saw very often, it was so so hard & at the time I didn’t understand why but as I grew I began to understand, the reason was, God didn’t want me to depend on anyone more than I depended on Him, & also if I didn’t separate I could never change because God needed to take me a different route, does that mean she was a bad person? NO! She has the sweetest heart of anyone I knew during that time of my life…..
I said all of that to say that IF you want different, change, a more satisfying life in general and in Jesus, you have to listen to the call & SEPARATE…….
In 2 Corinthians 6:17 God is clearly calling us out! He wants to be closer to us, God is ready, SO Ready, to receive us…… but we gotta separate ourselves from all that hoopla!!! (Riff raff, shenanigans or bull):
“Therefore “Come out from among them & be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”
I once thought “Well I can still hang out, see & talk to the same people….I just won’t do what they do”! Some people can actually do that, but it will still take some separation, because believe it or not….you probably won’t be as strong to resist the temptations of what you used to do….. it will take some dealings with God……it will take some deliverance and restoration…..
You cannot bring people out of something you’re still struggling with….. You MUST practice what you preach!!!
1 Timothy 4:16
“Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.”
What 1 Timothy 4:16 is basically saying is keep an eye on yourself so that when you are teaching others that you yourself aren’t guilty of it & by keeping yourself accountable you are able to deliver others from what you’ve been delivered from through your testimony!
So what are you still surrounding yourself with that isn’t helping you change or be a better person?
Are you afraid to be different?
What storm are you in now, if any, is it self created by yourself, your mouth, your reaction, your responses, your thought process, you not wanting to be alone?
When will you decide, enough is enough?
God wants you OUT…..as a matter of fact, He’s waiting for you outside the door!!!! But you’re wondering ‘how can I, where do I start’?
Psalms 119:9
How can a young person live a pure life? By obeying your word.
START with the Word of God….. & get under the umbrella of God: Those who go to God Most High for safety will be protected by the Almighty. I will say to the Lord , “You are my place of safety and protection. You are my God and I trust you.” (Psalms 91:1-2)
God desires to show you a different way to live, a way that is more fulfilling, more peaceful….. & no, it’s not boring! However, He can only meet you there….. When YOU say “YES“…… God won’t force you…..only try to get your attention (here it is)……
And never be afraid: “So don’t worry, because I am with you. Don’t be afraid, because I am your God. I will make you strong and will help you; I will support you with my right hand that saves you.” *Isaiah 41:10*
God bless you!
